Full moon Names
Many names have been given to full moons and depending whether you are following the Farmers Almanac’s or Native Americans you will find that the names given usually make sense for the time of year.
January – Wolf Moon – Ice Moon
January – 2022 The New Moon in Capricorn marks the beginning of a new cycle.
It is said that wolves are particularly vocal and sound loud in the first months of the year, which is probably why people referred to this as the Wolf Moon.

February – Snow Moon – hunger moon
Just some of the names that have been given to the full moon in February. Did you know that aprox every 19 years, February does not have a Full Moon.

March – Worm Moon – Full Sap Moon
Did you know that it was believed that trimming your hair during a full moon would make it grow faster, however there is currently no scientific evidence to prove this theory.
- A good time to meditate for manifesting dreams. The March full moon falls in the zodiac sign of Libra. If your life is not balanced, the full moon will shine a light on that imbalance.

April – pink moon
Did you know that many Tribes kept track of their seasons by using distinctive names for each of the full moons. It can be a little disappointing to think you are going to view and actual moon that is pink, however this Full Moon isn’t actually pink, but it still brings plenty of cheer.

Oct – hunters moon or full harvest moon
Nov – Beaver moon, frosty moon – November’s full Moon is most often called the “Beaver Moon” the reason for this is said to be that during this month beaver traps were set up in North America.
